The Goethe Institut offers the following language exams:
Start Deutsch 1
Start Deutsch 2
Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD)
Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (ZMP)
Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf
Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch
Kleines / Großes Deutsches (KDS / GDS) Sprachdiplom
The most common ones are the Zertifikat Deutsch as well as the Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung. Most German Universities accept the Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung to apply to university. In addition, a presentation of your language skills is demanded with the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für die Hochschule (German for University), which every University organizes itself.
Please notice that the majority of our german and austrian language schools offer the preparation for these exams within their standard or intensive courses.
